New Morning Mercies

"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I will hope in him." - Lamentations 3:22-23

By the time I'm in bed each night I wonder how I'm going to make it through another day. Grief and single parenting and still dealing with all the financial and legal arrangements that are necessary after a death are crushing. Crushing.

But eventually I fall asleep. And it's not always restful or very long - often it is neither - but sleep comes.

And I wake up in the morning with fresh grace. A new perspective. God's mercy upon me.

Because Lamentations 3:22-23 is true, I'm ready for another day.
